Practicality of Life
Nishit Shah
An alumnus of INC-Vadodara (2007), is a
Deputy Manager in Kotak Mahindra Life
Insurance. He is all praise for his INC faculty
members who taught him practicality in life.
He shares his views on life, career and his
post-INC experiences with INCAS Network.
He can be reached at shah.nishit@kotak.com
Nishit, the younger of the two brothers, is from
Vadodara. Both his father and mother are
Government employees. His elder brother is in
Australia.
Nishit is happy about his INC days, as he says, “This was
the place where I started my new life. I gained so many
good friends and lots of knowledge. Within that short span
of two years, I changed my mind. I became practical in all aspects. I am always grateful to all my faculty members at
INC for making me the perfect person.”
Nishit is positive in saying that, “High pressure situations
are quite common in life.” He affirms that “Before joining
INC I faced lot of pressures in my personal life. At some
point of time, it became so difficult for me to face them.”
But Nishit is all praise for INC when he says, “In my heart
of hearts, I have a great admiration for INC and its faculty
members who molded me in such a manner that now I can
face any odd situation in my life. I learnt to face the pressure
and survive by solving all the problems. The entire credit
goes to my INC teachers and friends.”
Nishit is excited to share his feelings about his friends at
INC. He says, “INC has given me a rare gift of so many
nice friends who are always ready to stand by my side in
times of adversity.” Nishit is happy to declare “Now we
have become lifetime friends.” He is enthusiastic to say,
“Whenever I thought of my friends at INC and the
enjoyment we had together, I wish I would go back to that
life once again.”
As a Bank Manager, naturally, Nishit’s work schedule is
very busy. But he emotionally says, “There have been so
many complaints from people that they can’t evenly balance
their social and professional lives. But I think it is my
privilege to pursue my MBA from INC-Vadodara, as it
taught me practicality in the life. Whatever I learnt during
my two year tenure of MBA, all that I applied to my practical
life. Now, with that exposure, I can keep professional
attitude during the job hours and can also maintain social
relations while off the duty.”
Nishit sounds matured as he says, “We learn so many
lessons in our lifetime. When we were children, we hardly
know anything except our parents and their guidance. While
as a college student, we would be sportive but when once
we are settled in our lives, we start thinking practically. As
we grow up, we learn to survive in various situations.”
When asked to give some guidance to his friends at INC,
Nishit says, “Truly speaking, two years before, I did not
deserve to give any advice to anyone until I had an exposure
to the corporate world through the campus interviews of
INC-Vadodara. But today I consider myself a good adviser.”
This is what he has to say to his youngsters, “Always aim
high and when once your goal is determined, start putting
extraordinary effort to achieve it.”

and want to be happy always and take life as it comes to

situations, she has to face while in job, she reacts positively
and says, “My job as a Sales Trainee in Pepsico International
is a complete hardcore sales job. I have to manage the
entire distributor system and even the market too. Of
course, it is tough and demanding. At times, I do face
problems, but to keep a go I have to manage the situation
and find immediate solutions.”
When enquired about her work-life balance, Tuli is
affirmative and says, “Life is full of adjustments and
balancing. I balance all the things that come in my way.”
Well, Tuli has big ideas in life. To relate them in her words,
“Have patience and face any kind of situation with a cool

become a successful manager. I learnt that a combination
of knowledge, skill and a positive mindset keeps us on the
top.”
Regarding guidance to her youngsters, Tuli says, “Just follow
your teacher’s advice and you will never cut a sorry face
in your life. Whatever may be the outcome, always believe

for her to find leisure period. But whenever she finds some
time, she says, “I find relaxation in my bike riding.”
When asked about friends at INC, she went nostalgic to
say, “I had lot many friends at INC. Because every one has
come up with flying colors in their chosen careers, they
hardly find time to meet me. However, we do keep contacts
over phone and emails.”
We understand that Tuli is a constant learner when she
says, “There is no end to our learning in life. It is an ongoing
process and as long as we live, we have to learn and learn
and learn.”
