Hi! This is Gourav Monga of INC Gurgaon (2007). I am presently working as Sales
Manager, Reliance Life Insurance Company Ltd., in Hyderabad. I feel it as a
privilege to share some of my college experiences with you through the
'Reminiscences' column.
INC has been creating managers over the years, who have within themselves the
mettle to take on the challenges of the future. INC rewards initiative, novelty
and thinking outside the box. The students are individualists of enormous
intellectual energy with a talent for collaboration and teamwork. Corporate
recruiters value our graduates for their intellectual abilities, collaborative
mind-set, individuality, etc. Summer placements at INC are proof of the
overwhelming confidence of the corporate sector in the students of the
institute. With 70 leading companies from different sectors to choose from, it
definitely was a pleasant choice of plenty for the students.
Year after year, the institute has been growing; both in capabilities and
opportunities for students, with a variety of jobs that they love to do. The
institute is located in its own sprawling 1.1 acres campus in Gurgaon, away
from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. It is well served by an extensive
transport
The library has a rich collection of books and journals predominantly related to
management and allied subjects to meet the present and future information needs
of its users. The computerized library of the college provides students with
connectivity to the latest technological material through networked
work-stations.
The seminar hall is an ultra-modern one and it is well-equipped with
state-ofthe- art audio-visual and presentation tools to facilitate smooth
presentations.
The air-conditioned classrooms provide the most conductive atmosphere for
dynamic and focused discussions. They have been designed to bring together
analysis with action and are augmented by well-equipped facilities. All in all,
choosing INC for my MBA course was a wise decision..

Guiding My Thought Process
Abha Umar
INC-Bhopal, 2006
Management is all about observation, reflection, interpretation and action. INC
has modulated my career by constantly guiding the thought process. The
case-study methodology ensures 360-degree brainstorming, which, in turn,
strengthens the analytical skills and decision-making capability of an
individual. Case studies have equipped me with the competence to face workplace
challenges. Also, the entrepreneurial skills I have acquired discussing the
case studies are of immense value.

Rigorous Foundation
Ashok Kolla,
INC-Hyderabad, 2007
The program at INC is designed to provide the students with a rigorous
foundation to the fundamental principles of various disciplines of management.
It is uniquely designed to help in decision-making which is vital for any
business environment. It effectively stresses on the need for better analysis,
tools and techniques and is based on statistical methods. These tools and
techniques have helped me in a very big way. I would say the course has been
distinctively designed keeping the current trends of business operations in
view.

Honing Managerial Skills
Nisha Gwalini,
INC-Nagpur, 2008
Much of the learning that I have imbibed from INC is thanks to the thrust on
case studies, time-bound live projects and the comprehensive 16-week Summer
Internship Program. SIP has helped me sharpen my managerial skills and develop
a positive attitude in life. I am confident to take on the competitive world,
thanks to INC.

Remarkable
Method
Akash Kumar,
INC-Gurgaon, 2007
I think that theoretical knowledge is not enough to address real life
situations. INC's case-study method is remarkable. The method has gifted me
with the skill to handle complex situations in a professional manner. INC
consistently brings the corporate world into the classroom. The students get
numerous opportunities to do assignments and projects. SIP transformed me. I
have become a go-getter and enjoy competition.
Building Innate Capabilities
Vijayasree B
INC, Mumbai (2007), Assistant Manager,
Bajaj Allianz, Mumbai
Hi
to everybody! This is Vijayasree from INC, Mumbai, sharing my re- -collections
of INC with you. I am presently working as Assistant Manager at Bajaj Allianz
General Insurance Company Ltd. in Mumbai.
In INC, case-based study is of vital importance and is used as an effective
tool to impart certain skills to students. A case study is a written record of
the events that occurred at a particular company or within a particular
industry over a number of years. Case studies are often used not only to
illustrate what a student has learned and retained in the class, but also to
provide him/her with valuable handson experience. Through a blend of Indian and
international cases, students develop decision-making skills by applying
concepts to specific situations.
Keeping in mind the importance of the personality development and to engender
different skills among the students, INC conducts various activities throughout
the year. Students are given the
opportunity to organize an annual intercollegiate meet which develops closer
interaction and friendship among the students of the various colleges.
Summer internships are one of the best opportunities to get first-hand 'real'
business experience for first year MBA students. Students are eager to test
what they've learned as soon as possible. An internship in the summer between
the first and second MBA years is an ideal way to explore an industry, build a
relationship with a prospective employer, or simply hone the skills. The
internship one chooses will be an integral part of student's overall job search
process. INC consciously encourages industry interaction with a wide
cross-section of professionals in the industry. Summer projects, industry
interaction programs, seminars, etc., organized in association with the
industry offer students an opportunity to exhibit their organiza- -tional and
communication skills, analytical abilities and awareness of contemporary issues
to leading recruiters.
I take it as a privilege to talk about my alma mater which transformed me into
what I am now.
